Job Description

Our client in the Logistics industry is currently looking for a Business Development Manager, in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Acquire New Business for both Air and Sea. Facilitate processing of credit application. Implementation (New and existing client) Client Servicing. Record client information. Report on Sales Activities. Cost freight movements and prepare service estimates. Comply with the requirements of the quality management system.

Education + Experience

    1 year Sales and Marketing related qualification at NQF level 5. 5 years working experience as a sales representative in a service industry of which at least last 3 consecutive years were in the clearing and forwarding industry. Servicing and marketing principles and practice. International Trade principles and practice. External business environment. Company service charge rates. Tariff calculation concepts. Company terms of payment. Computer literacy (MS Office Package) Carrier and depot conditions of trade. National currencies and international codes. INCO Terms. Verbal communication � advanced. Business opportunism. Presentation and Negotiation Client/service orientation. Situation analysis and problem solving. Judgment and decision making. Creative and innovative thinking. Interpersonal sensitivity.
