Job Description

Perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel-powered construction machinery while maintaining accurate service records. Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and provide field service support as needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Conduct routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel powered construction machinery. Perform mechanical and hydraulic fault finding and component replacement. Maintain accurate job cards, service logs, and maintenance records. Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental standards. Attend to breakdowns and perform field service duties as required. Keep tools, equipment, and the workshop in good working order.

Education + Experience

    A strong background in maintaining and repairing earth moving machinery and heavy duty diesel equipment. Matric/Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent. Qualified Diesel Mechanic with a Trade Test Certification (Red Seal or equivalent) Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience working on earth moving equipment. Valid drivers license (Code 8 or higher) Familiarity with brands such as Caterpillar (CAT), Komatsu, Volvo, Bell, Hitachi is advantageous. Ability to work independently, under pressure, and in demanding conditions. Excellent mechanical diagnostic and fault finding skills. High mechanical aptitude with attention to detail. Problem solving mindset and proactive work ethic. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to follow instructions and comply with safety regulations. Willingness to work overtime and attend to emergency breakdowns when needed.
