Develop and implement strategic procurement plans in alignment with business goals.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    The role will be based at the head office and will focus on delivering cost effective sourcing strategies improving procurement operations and ensuring robust supplier performance across local and international markets. Develop and implement strategic procurement plans in alignment with business goals. Establish and enforce procurement policies processes and performance standards. Conduct market research and benchmark sourcing trends to ensure competitiveness. Set and track procurement KPIs for continuous performance improvement. Identify and onboard qualified suppliers manage supplier databases and contracts. Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure service excellence. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews against SLA cost and quality targets. Drive transformation by prioritising BBEEE compliant vendors. Oversee full procurement cycle from requisition to payment. Drive procurement automation and process improvements. Reduce lead times and eliminate bottlenecks in the supply chain. Ensure timely procurement of goods and services aligned with project timelines. Manage the procurement budget and ensure adherence to financial targets. Identify cost saving opportunities without compromising quality. Perform cost benefit analysis and negotiate favourable terms. Ensure spending aligns with financial and operational strategies. Ensure procurement processes adhere to internal policies and regulatory standards. Proactively manage supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies. Support audit activities and contribute to internal control improvements. Promote ethical sourcing and anti corruption practices. Collaborate with operations finance and legal teams to align procurement initiatives. Provide procurement insights to support strategic decision making. Champion a customer focused approach to internal service delivery. Participate in global and regional procurement initiatives for cost and process synergy. Monitor procurement metrics eg cost efficiency delivery timelines supplier compliance. Implement improvement plans and use analytics to drive strategic decisions. Stay abreast of industry trends and digital procurement innovations. Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals. Set individual KPIs to promote high performance and accountability. Foster a culture of collaboration innovation and continuous improvement. Assist with special requests business cases and reports as needed. Lead and optimise the procurement function.

Education + Experience

    Grade 12 Matric. Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field NQF Level 7. 7 to 10 years in a senior procurement role. 5 to 10 years in a procurement leadership management capacity. Experience in international logistics with Shipshape and or Cargowise knowledge preferred. SAP Power BI and advanced Excel proficiency is essential. Strategic thinking and strong leadership. Strong negotiation and influencing skills. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement. Problem solving risk management and decision making abilities. Financial acumen cost control and budgeting skills. Experience with process improvement and systems optimisation. Agile and adaptable in fast paced environments. Excellent under pressure with a strong customer orientation. Self driven with a proactive hands on approach. Collaborative team player with strong integrity and accountability.
